Berichtigungspolitik

At Morgenbericht, we are committed to maintaining the trust of our readers by promptly and transparently correcting any errors in our journalism. Mistakes happen, but how we handle them defines our credibility. This Corrections Policy outlines our approach to identifying, investigating, and rectifying inaccuracies in our articles, ensuring that every correction is clear, visible, and permanent.

How do we handle mistakes?

When an error is identified in any article published on Morgenbericht (morgenbericht.de), our standards desk, led by Helena Jäger, takes immediate responsibility. We assess whether the error is material — meaning it could mislead a reasonable reader on a significant point — and if so, we update the article and append a correction note at the top or bottom.

The correction note states the original error, the corrected information, and the date of the change. Minor typographical or formatting errors that do not affect meaning are fixed without a note. All changes are logged internally and reviewed by the editorial team.

Who oversees corrections at Morgenbericht?

Helena Jäger, Ansvarig för faktagranskning (emma.sandberg@morgenbericht.de), is the designated editor responsible for fact-checking, source verification, and corrections at Morgenbericht. She leads the standards desk that handles every reported error. If a correction involves a complex or sensitive matter, the case is escalated to Chefredaktör Christian Busch (anders.lindqvist@morgenbericht.de), who makes the final publication decision.

The team includes Christina Hoffmann (Redaktionschef), Oliver Schmitt (Politikredaktör), Anna Möller (Wirtschaftreporter), and Martin Franke (Kultur- och samhällsredaktör), each responsible for accuracy within their respective beats. No correction is published without the approval of the standards desk or the editor in chief.

What you can expect from us

When you report an error to Morgenbericht, you will receive an acknowledgement within 24 hours during business days. Our team investigates the claim by reviewing sources, interview notes, and editorial records. If a material error is confirmed, we publish a correction note on the article page and update the text accordingly. We also make a record of the correction in our internal database.

For non-material errors, we fix the text without a public note but may inform the reader who reported it. We do not remove articles because of errors unless there is a legal or safety reason; instead, we correct and annotate. This ensures a transparent public record.

How can readers report an error?

If you spot a mistake in any Morgenbericht article, please email our dedicated corrections address at corrections@morgenbericht.de. Include the article URL, a clear description of the error, and any supporting evidence or sources. You can also use our general contact form at /about-us/contact/ if you prefer.

We take every report seriously. Your tip will be handled by Helena Jäger’s standards desk, and we will reply with an outcome once our review is complete. For urgent matters, you may escalate directly to Christian Busch at the editorial line: +49 30 577 013 49.

What about corrections to sponsored or AI-assisted content?

Our correction policy applies equally to all editorial content, including articles where AI-assisted tools were used for research or drafting. Any sponsored or commercially labelled content that contains a factual error is corrected in the same transparent manner. Commercial relationships, as stated in our /advertising-affiliate-disclosure/, never determine editorial conclusions, and corrections are handled without regard to sponsorship.

Questions or concerns?

If you have any questions about our correction process or wish to file a formal complaint about an error that was not adequately addressed, please contact our standards desk at corrections@morgenbericht.de or write to Helena Jäger, Ansvarig för faktagranskning, at emma.sandberg@morgenbericht.de. For unresolved issues, you may escalate to Chefredaktör Christian Busch.
