What makes a good tip?
A good tip is specific, verifiable and clearly tied to Swedish public interest. We look for developments in policy, politics, economics, culture and society that affect people in Sweden and beyond.
- Policy developments: new legislation, government proposals, regulatory changes or parliamentary debates in the Riksdag or Regeringen.
- Public-interest stories: issues affecting citizens’ rights, public services, transparency or accountability.
- Municipal politik: local council decisions, budget allocations, zoning disputes or school reforms that have wider relevance.
- Wirtschaft news and economy: corporate behaviour, market shifts, labour market trends, household finance or trade policy with a Swedish angle.
- Culture and society: arts funding, educational changes, social movements or lifestyle stories that reflect Swedish life.
The strongest tips come with concrete evidence: documents, emails, audio recordings, photographs or named contacts we can interview. Even a clear account of what happened, where and when, with your contact details, gives us a solid starting point.

What should you include in your tip?
To help us assess your tip quickly, include the ‘who, what, when, where, why’ of the story. Provide any supporting material you can share legally and safely, such as documents, links, internal memos or data sets. If you have a source who can speak on the record, let us know.
You do not need to write a finished article. A clear, concise summary of the facts and why you believe this matters is enough. We also appreciate knowing whether you have shared this information with other media organisations.
How do we verify tips?
Every tip we pursue is handled by the editorial desk and then passed to our standards desk, led by Helena Jäger (ansvarig för faktagranskning). Our Fact-checking policy sets out the verification steps we follow, including source cross-checking, document authentication and independent corroboration. We also maintain a public Sources & Standards page that explains our sourcing principles.
No story is published without human editorial approval. Our Chefredaktör Christian Busch and Redaktionschef Christina Hoffmann oversee the process. AI-assisted tools may support research or drafting but never replace human judgement.
What about confidentiality?
We treat all tipsters with respect and take source protection seriously. You can request confidentiality, and we will discuss the best way to communicate securely. If you wish to remain anonymous, please explain why, so we can assess the risk. We will never publish your identity without your explicit consent.
That said, we need to know who you are to verify your claim. If you choose not to reveal your identity, we may still investigate your tip using publicly available information, but our ability to act on it will be limited. Our Editorial policy includes a section on source confidentiality.
What can you expect from us
We read every tip that arrives at tips@, newsdesk@ or press@. Because of the volume, we cannot respond personally to every submission, but if your tip is relevant and verifiable, an editor will contact you within a few working days. We may ask follow-up questions or request additional documentation.
If we decide not to pursue your tip, we will not publish it or share it externally. In some cases, we may pass your tip to another desk or to a trusted partner news organisation, but only with your permission. Our AI & Automation policy confirms that all editorial decisions remain human-led and that no automated system generates stories from tips.
How do you report a correction?
